| ANNUAL DR KEN COLLINS ADDRESS Monday, 1st December, 2008 The Dr Ken Collins’ Address has been a highlight of the Rotary year for Western Australian Rotarians for the past ten years. The purpose of the Address is to provide a venue for International speakers to provide up-to-date information about our Rotary charity – The Rotary Foundation – and to give insights into the future of the Foundation and Rotary in general. The Address has always been able to attract a very high profile speaker from either The Rotary Foundation or Rotary International. This year, 2008, is no exception, as Past Rotary International Director and current Vice Chair of The Rotary Foundation Ron Burton will be the keynote speaker for the 11th Annual Dr Ken Collins Address on Monday, 1st December, 2008.Ron has also served Rotary International as District Governor, Delegate to Councils on Legislation, International Assembly Discussion Leader, Zone Trainer, Rotary Information Counselor, member of several committees and task forces and President’s Representative to numerous District Conferences. He has been a Moderator of the International Assembly and Aide to the President of Rotary International. Ron has been a member of the Rotary Club of Norman, Oklahoma since 1979. In his private life Ron is an attorney and member of the US Supreme Court Bar and holds positions on numerous Committees and Organizations. He is the recipient of numerous Rotary Awards including the Service Above Self Award. He is married to Jetta. Both are Paul Harris Fellows, Benefactors, Major Donors, members of the Bequest Society and the Arch Klumph Society. Support speaker this year will be the Hon. Justice Robert Nicholson, retired Federal Court Judge and former Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar. All Rotarians and their partners/ guests are invited to attend The 2008 Dr Ken Collins’ Address to meet and hear Rotary Foundation Vice Chair Ron and his wife Jetta, and the Hon. Justice Bob Nicholson and his wife Lynn, at the Burswood-on-Swan, Camford Drive, Burswood (Situated on the river behind the Burswood Casino in the Casino complex.) at 7.00pm for 7.30pm. Cost is $40.00 per person for a two course meal. A Cash Bar will be available. Tickets will be pre-sold and must be presented for admission.
